Udo's Eisparadies
Mit Peter Paul Sarcletti geboren 1857 in Banco, Italien, begann die lange Eis-Tradition der Familie. Als gelernter Kupferschmied kam er 1875 auf seiner Wanderschaft nach Holland, wo er die große Kunst des Eismachens erlernte. Im Jahre 1879 verkaufte er bereits sein erstes selbstgemachtes Speiseeis mit Eiswägen in München, eröffnete 1906 in der Sendlinger Straße sein erstes Eiscafé und war erstmalig 1908 auf dem Oktoberfest. Seine 4 Söhne Peter, Josef, Emanuel und Ludwig übernahmen nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg die Geschäfte.  Emanuel’s Sohn Otto Sarcletti, welcher bereits als Kind geholfen hatte das Roheis händisch für die Produktion zu zerkleinern, übernahm 1948 die Eisdiele in der Reichenbachstraße. Konditormeister Udo Plesner, Sohn des österreichischen Filmemachers Josef Plesner („Tiefland“ mit Leni Riefenstahl), zog es 1963 nach Italien, wo er die Speiseeiserzeugung lernte. Zurück in Österreich eröffnete er 1969 in Kufstein am Rande des Festungsberges das legendäre „Cafe Burgstüberl“. Mit seiner Frau Silvana Sarcletti Plesner führte er ab 1978 die Firma unter dem Namen „Udo’s Eisparadies“. Durch Sohn Andreas Plesner lebt die Tradition der manuellen Speiseeiserzeugung in fünfter Generation weiter, er beliefert auch heute noch den Süßwarenstand der Familie auf dem Oktoberfest. Tochter Alexandra Plesner gründete 2010, während ihres Studiums an der renommierten Universität „Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design“ in London, das Projekt „I Scream Factory“, welches mit der Idee von Eis als Metapher für das Leben spielt.

I SCREAM FACTORY Austrian-born ice cream enthusiast and creative project manager Alexandra Plesner, launched 2010 „I Scream Factory“ whilst studying at the iconic art institution Central Saint Martins in London. The project is a splendid marriage of ice cream and art and stems from her family’s links to the world of frozen delicacies – with them founding a business that has past down through five generations. Ice cream seduces in a positive, propulsive way and can momentarily suspend the subconscious flow of everyday consciousness, allowing the artistic process to impact within the individual; a challenging experience of the world we live in. Ice cream can sensuously massage those pleasure-producing regions of the brain generating warming waves of comfort throughout the body.
